Highly recommend doing a boat day with Captain Bob! It was such an awesome way to see St Martin and the surrounding islands by boat. The water is absolutely beautiful from Pinel and Tintamarre - good snorkeling as well. The captain (Brett) was laid back, told us about the history of the island, and poured strong rum drinks! The French bread sandwiches and free ice cream at the end of the day were a great addition. There is a reason Captain Bobs has so many reviews!
Go with Captain Bobs!
We had difficulty finding a lot to do visiting St Martin in September but Captain bob’s was the best day of our vacation. Our captain was hilarious, knowledgeable and kind. The boat was really fast and a bit scary at times for us but it was a great adventure and we conquered our fear. There’s so many great stops on this trip and we learned so many fun facts about the island and had lots of laughs. Plenty of sandwiches, beer and rum &cokes. Cannot give enough praise to our captain, I feel bad I forgot his name, I think he was Captain Bobs son. Thank you for this experience!
Captain Bob’s is the best
No regrets whatsoever. I’m so thankful we found captain bob’s tour on trip advisor. Sandwiches were amazing, drinks provided all day, and the information captain shares while on the excursion is priceless. My husband has a new best friend/business partner (ha ha) in Captain Brett and I’ve included their photo! The snorkeling was wonderful and nothing beats the water here. 10/10 recommend this excursion. Captain Brett is fun and we loved that it’s a smaller crowd on board.
Fun day on the water!
We had a great time aboard Captain Bob’s tour. The boat was new, clean and comfortable. Our captain Anthony and first mate CJ were very knowledgeable about the area and did a great job managing the boat on a rougher than usual day. We were able to go to all of the stops except Mullet Beach and they quickly adjusted the itinerary and headed to a different beach in its place. We saw turtles at Tintamare, iguanas at Pinel Island and lots of beautiful fish at Creole Rock. It was one of the highlights of the trip for my husband and I and our 15 year old son. We would definitely do this tour again.
Wonderful day on the water
This was a great day on the water! Anthony and CJ were the best. Truly made it a fun day! Definitely would do it again. They showed us everything and took us everywhere for a day. Plenty to drink and eat!
Fun in the Sun- Rum Belly
Captain Anthony and 1st mate CJ are awesome! Today we enjoyed a fun filled day on “Rum Belly” 40’ speed boat with 2 -150 hp engines that swiftly navigated us thru the beautiful Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans around Saint Maarten, both Dutch and French side. They shared the rich history of the island with stops in Pinel Island, Tintemarra and other beautiful beach’s around the island. If you love the salt air, swimming/snorkeling and boating this is a must while in Saint Maarten! Ask for Anthony and CJ you will not be disappointed!!
Rum Belly for the win!
Lots of insight on the area and all the things to see. Great restaurant recommendations to continue to enjoy your vacation. Sandwiches provided for lunch were good. Made from a good French baguette bread. Boat is clean and well maintained.
Wonderful must-do excursion! Great value. Captain Franco was wonderful and took excellent care of us while keeping us safe, even though he didn’t have a first mate. We only had 14 on our boat which was great. We made 5 total stops and were able to swim/snorkel at 4 of them. Absolutely wonderful!
Great day on the water!

I have gone on several boat trips in St. Maarten over the years. Usually we do a catamaran trip so this was different. Enjoyed the more intimate experience. There were 15 guests and two crew. Captain Anthony and first mate CJ were very professional and personable. They put safely first but were able to show us a great time. Anthony’s driving was particularly impressive through the rough bits north of the island on the way to Tintamarre. They both went out of their way to ensure every guest had whatever they needed. There were sandwiches from a local bakery, chips and beverages and a bit of alcohol. If you are looking for a good time and don’t mind being jostled about for a bit, then give it a try. Great for people who want a smaller crowd, a more intimate experience and aren’t into a total booze fest (though I did my best). Definitely recommend.
Rough Day At Sea
Captain Bob’s team can’t change the seas nor equipment failure. However, they can change how they react to it. My recommendation to their team is twofold. First, when a boat fails and you have to change out at another location, don’t make the guests make a second side trip back to retrieve said boat. We wasted a significant amount of time doing both boat changes. The first exchange was necessary. The second was a matter of convenience for the owners and an inconvenience for the passengers. Ultimately, the best part of the tour was shortened as a result. My second recommendation is to have alternate plans for days with rough seas. Crossing the Atlantic Ocean with 6 ft swells is a tough day of riding. I wonder if it was made worse with our captain trying to catch the tour up. Not sure. Several passengers were grabbing their necks in pain. My husband and I are both a little sore this morning ourselves. I have to think there is a better way to handle the tour and still have an enjoyable day.
Nice team members, organized start, close to the terminal. If the boat hadn’t broken and the seas weren’t crazy, a totally different day. One experience so only take it for that one day.
